Yesterday the American indices rose significantly. Today the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average are showing mixed sentiment, but the NASDAQ 100 is going down a bit. What can they do next? Let’s try to answer that question in an analysis, S&P 500 first:

S&P 500

Yesterday was a great bullish session. The S&P 500 started rising strongly at the beginning of the European trading session. In consequence, the price finished the day a little above the R2 resistance level, at 4215.

Today the S&P 500 is showing mixed sentiment. The volatility is really low, though. If the buyers show their strength once again, the price might reach 4230 today. But if the bears take control over the market, the price could even drop below the Pivot Point and reach 4200.

NASDAQ 100

NASDAQ 100 was the strongest one yesterday. The bulls started showing some real strength at the beginning of the European trading session. In consequence, the price finished the day high above the R2 resistance level, slightly above 13900.

Today the NASDAQ 100 is going down a bit and the volatility is rather low, though. If the buyers don’t generate some serious appetite soon, the price could drop below 13850 and reach the Pivot Point. But if they do, the price might even reach 14000 today.

Dow Jones Industrial Average

The DJIA index was really volatile yesterday. First, the price started rising at the beginning of the European trading session. Then, in the afternoon, it started going down significantly. The price even dropped below the Pivot Point and 33300 in the early evening. After that, it started rising strongly, though. In consequence, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the day slightly above 33600, a little below the R1 resistance level.

Today the price is showing mixed sentiment. The volatility is really low, though. If the buyers show their strength once again, the price might rise above 33700 today. But if the bears take control over the market, the price could even drop below 33550 and reach the Pivot Point.
